Cynwyd Heritage Trail and Manayunk Bridge CleanupIn summer, much of the litter along nature trails and wooded paths blends into the greenery, making it harder to spot—but it’s still there. Don’t be discouraged! The warm weather actually makes litter cleanups easier: gloves are for grime now, not for staying warm. Last Saturday morning, we headed out for a quick two-hour cleanup along the Heritage Cynwyd Trail and across the Manayunk Bridge. While the trail itself is generally well-maintained by the Friends of Cynwyd Trail, litter becomes more noticeable as you approach the busier streets of Manayunk and the edge of Philadelphia. Still, a little effort goes a long way in keeping these beautiful trails clean.
